Relaxed by design, thoughtful where it matters.

If highly structured groups feel like too much, or you simply want to connect without rushing, you are welcome here. We build this space around comfort and mutual respect.

What is Yuruyuru Shafudo?

An unofficial Kyoto community that grew from a small group hosting occasional events.

Our guiding idea is simple: join only when you want, with no membership fee and no restriction by university or year. We value loose, comfortable connections rather than a fixed activity schedule.

“Shafudo” comes from a Japanese abbreviation for social misfit. Here, we use it casually and positively for people who sometimes find life difficult, prefer to go at their own pace, or understand those feelings.

We do not center our activities around taking lots of photos. Conversation, games, planning an event, or simply sharing the same space are all valid ways to participate.

Things we have done—and want to try.

Always check our social posts for the latest date, venue, and participation details.
